Eurasian Resources Group (“ERG” or “The Group”), a leading diversified natural resources group headquartered in Luxembourg, along with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Belgium, the Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan in Luxembourg and the Kazakhstan-based KATD Group, hosted an event on 25 March to mark Nauryz, the Kazakh celebration of spring, light and harmony. The joint event successfully promoted Kazakh culture in Luxembourg and looked forward to a new year of prosperity and unity. This was the first offline, cultural event hosted by ERG and its partners in Luxembourg since the recent lifting of coronavirus restrictions.
The event was attended by His Excellency Baimukhan Margulan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Belgium, representatives from the KATD Group, employees of ERG, the Honorary Consulate and the Embassy, as well as by some of the Group’s partners and residents of Luxembourg.
During his speech, Mr Baimukhan Margulan spoke about the significance of the Nauryz holiday for many people and countries as a symbol of social harmony and unity with nature, as well as the role of the celebration in preserving the cultural heritage and traditions of ancestors.
KATD Group presented its new project, Muse of Nomad, which is a blog that shares information about the culture of modern Kazakhstan and the traditions of its people, including their lifestyle, as well as their fashion. The company further displayed their new clothing brand “Nomad Moon” and Kazakhyuvelir’s unique national jewelry brand.
Additionally, there were musical performances by Mrs Aigerim Matayeva and Mrs Aigerim Ersanova, the founders of the Parisian project “Art Ambassadeurs". The professional musicians from Kazakhstan played famous Kazakh compositions on national musical instruments, including the kobyz, zhetygen, saz-syrnai and shankobyz.
A fashion show of traditional clothes from Kazakhstan, entitled “Nomad Moon”, showcased modern, light suits with ethnic features, made from quality materials in accordance with the trends of sustainable and responsible consumption.
Benedikt Sobotka, CEO of ERG and the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan to Luxembourg, said, “I am very pleased that it became possible again to organise the Nauryz celebrations in Luxembourg for our partners and friends. The spirit of Nauryz is reflected in the Group’s corporate values of Unity, Responsibility and Development and it was special to be able to share this with the people of Luxembourg and Kazakhstan. I would like to extend my gratitude to the team involved in organising the event and wish everyone a safe and happy Nauryz!”
